What is the FX Trust Score Index™?

The FX Trust Score Index™ is FXTrustScore’s proprietary broker evaluation framework used to measure the reliability and trustworthiness of forex and CFD brokers.

The index aggregates multiple criteria including regulatory compliance, security and fund protection, trading conditions, customer support quality and online reputation. Each broker receives a final FX Trust Score on a 0-100 scale derived from these weighted components.

The FX Trust Score Index™ is applied consistently across all broker reviews and rankings on FXTrustScore.com to ensure transparent and comparable broker evaluations.

The live Broker Data Index below shows how each reviewed broker currently scores under the FX Trust Score Index™ framework.

How We Calculate the FX Trust Score

The FX Trust Score is our proprietary evaluation system designed to bring transparency to the forex and CFD trading industry. Every broker is assessed against the same five key pillars, each scored on a scale from 0 to 100%. The result is a balanced, unbiased rating that reflects both safety and trading quality.

1. Regulatory Compliance

We analyse the strength and credibility of each broker’s regulatory licences, including jurisdiction quality, investor protections, compliance history and oversight. Strong, reputable regulation is the foundation of a safe trading environment.

2. Security & Fund Protection

This pillar evaluates client fund segregation, negative balance protection, compensation schemes, internal security controls and overall financial safeguards. The goal is to assess how well a broker protects traders’ funds during normal operations and periods of volatility.

3. Trading Conditions

We examine spreads, commissions, swap rates, execution speed, slippage, available instruments, leverage, platform technology and liquidity. This score reflects a broker’s suitability for different trading styles, including scalping, day trading and longer-term strategies.

4. Customer Support

We review responsiveness, availability, support channels, language coverage and the quality of help provided. Reliable customer support is essential when trading live markets.

5. Online Reputation

Instead of relying on raw forums and review sites, we apply a weighted, noise-filtered approach to evaluating trader feedback. This includes sentiment analysis, recency, consistency and the credibility of sources.

Always choose a broker that fits your trading style, risk tolerance and regulatory requirements in your country.

FAQs

We update scores whenever there is a material change to a broker, for example, new regulation, changes in ownership, major platform updates, big shifts in spreads or leverage, or significant shifts in trader feedback. At a minimum, we review each broker at least once per year.

No. Brokers cannot buy a higher Trust Score. We may have commercial relationships with some brokers, but all scores are calculated using the same methodology and we clearly explain how we arrive at each score.

No broker is completely risk-free. A higher score means, in our view, that the broker is stronger on regulation, security and overall quality compared with peers. You should still do your own research and only trade with money you can afford to lose.
