Read our brief overview of international forex broker, IG Markets before you trade.

Founded in 1974, IG stands as one of the most established and respected names in global forex and CFD trading. With access to over 19,000 tradable instruments spanning currencies, indices, shares, commodities and more, IG has built a strong reputation for reliability and transparency over several decades. The broker operates under multiple tier-one financial regulators worldwide, reflecting its commitment to high compliance standards and investor protection.

Despite its extensive market offering and long-standing heritage, IG does have a few notable drawbacks. The broker does not support MetaTrader 5 (MT5), which may disappoint traders who prefer using that particular platform. In addition, IG has previously faced regulatory action: in 2018, the French regulator AMF imposed a €500,000 fine following a compliance-related investigation that began in 2015.

Overall, IG remains a well-recognised and reputable brokerage for experienced traders seeking depth of market access and a trusted regulatory framework.
